How did you use technologies in your construction, research, planning and evaluation stages?
During the making of our music video, a wide variety of different technologies were used. These technologies were used during the filming, editing and even the broadcasting of product. The technologies that me and all of my group used were Adobe Premier Pro, YouTube, Photoshop the camera equipment.
Photoshop played a huge part in the making of our product. This was the programme that all of the students used to create their Magazine adverts and their Digipaks. The first time we came in contact with Photoshop was when I had to make a Digipak and Magazine advert replica. To gain a better understanding of the programme, we was all told to find a Digipak and a magazine advert of a famous band or artist within our chosen genre of music. We then had to do our best to replicate it. The Digipak that I chose was Biffy Clyro's. To replicate this Digipak I had to take a long shot of me and my friend to then snip into the Digipak. As this was my first time using Photoshop, making these replica Digipaks proved to be great idea,as it gave me a much better understanding of how the programme worked and the different features that are at hand.
Another Software that I became familiar with during the making of our media product. Adobe Premier Pro is the programme me and my group used to edit both our preliminary task and our main task. This is also the software we used to edit our main task in AS. So this meant that we were already quite familiar with it at the start of A2. However, we still decided to make a preliminary task to refresh our memory of the website. Adobe Premier Pro has given me a great understanding on how editing works, I now know the power of editing and the effects, sounds and colours that are used in all media products.
YouTube is a website that has been very helpful for research. In AS, i would often go on YouTube to research different horror clips to see which ones could have an influence on mine. YouTube has also proved to be very helpful in A2 as it has given me a better understanding of music videos within the Indie Folk genre. YouTube has also helped with the broadcasting of our media product. We have been able to upload our music video to the YouTube, this means that it is going to be viewed by a large online audience. As we have made progress in the editing of our music video over these past months, we have been uploading drafts to YouTube. This gives us the opportunity to receive positive feedback from people who use the website, we as a group can then take this feedback on board to try and improve our final product.
Me and my group also used a wide range of cameras and other equipment to film our music video. These were vital in the making of our video as they ensured that all of our shots were of the highest standard. During the filming we used a very high quality camera that had a great picture, making the music video look more professional. We also used a tripod during filming. If used properly, the tripod would help us avoid any 'uneven' or 'shaky' shots.
